Here comes a shocking statement: we’re actually excited about The Wolverine. Sure X-Men Origins: Wolverine was an abysmal piece of cinema, but with the addition of director James Mangold and the fact that this will be completely free from the continuity of the other X-Men films, The Wolverine has all the potential in the world to give us just what we want.
That’s why we love what we’re seeing from this new image from the movie, courtesy of Empire. There isn’t much to see here, but the inclusion of Wolverine’s bone claws points to this scene being a flashback before he was given his adamantium skeleton. We’ll find out why we’re seeing Logan in the past when The Wolverine comes out on July 26, 2013. Until then, check out the full image below:
