When it comes to environmentally friendly ways to power your home, and, by extension, your gadgets, the popular solutions are often wind and solar. Brazilian designer Joao Paulo Lammoglia thinks we've been overlooking a key source of energy: Your breath. Lammoglia design and built the AIRE, a charger that can provide juice to your gadgets as you breathe.

"The use of renewable energy sources is the most important step we can take for the minimisation of environmental damage," said Lammoglia. "Harnessing energy from human activities and transforming it into electrical energy is possible, and is a great solution to such energy issues."

Inside the AIRE are two small wind turbines that turn your breath into usable energy. The device can be used during a lot of different applications—sleeping, working out, even having sex if you're really about that kill-two-birds-with-one-stone life.

Developed last July, the AIRE one the Red Dot Design Best of the Best Award in 2011. Despite the acolades, there are no plans to bring the AIRE to market.
