You'll Have To Drop $30 On This Connector To Use The iPhone 5 With Your Old Accessories

Ouch.

None

Got an iPhone or iPod speaker dock or car charger? Well, thanks to the new devices' 9-pin Lightning port connector, it's no longer supported. To use your old accessory with one of the new devices, you'll have to get a special adaptor to bridge the gap.

That's annoying in itself, but to add insult to injury, Apple isn't selling the adaptor cheap (or, you know, giving it away, which would be the charitable thing to do). These little guys are going to cost you $30 a pop, which, especially in the case of things like a car charger, is likely a hefty chunk of what you paid for the accessory in the first place.

Oh, and did we mention that the adaptors won't go on sale until October? At least a couple weeks after the arrival of the new iPhone?

On the bright side, iPhone and iPod accessory makers are already hard at work producing new widgets to go with the new Lightning ports. So if you're in the market for a new iPhone or iPod, maybe consider this a time to clean house and start fresh.
