The Possession ruled the box office this weekend with a $17.7 million opening, but it's kids movie The Oogieloves that's actually breaking records. According to reports, despite being shown on somewhere between 2000 and 2500 screens, the film failed to make more that $448,131 - making it the 12th worst wide-release opening of a film, ever. It apparently cost $60 million to make, too, so that's both hilarious and sad.

As for fellow new release Lawless, the film earned about $9.7 million, putting it at number two in the box office - not awful, but those numbers make it the first Shia LaBeouf-starring film since Disturbia in 2007 to not open at number one. No worries, though; something tells us his next film, Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac, won't follow that trend.
