Bad Piggies, the highly anticipated spinoff to the international blockbuster Angry Birds franchise, has landed in the App Store.
As expected, demand for the game has been strong right out of the gate— it's rocketed straight to the top of the paid apps section since being released earlier this morning.
In Bad Piggies, players join the side of the famous villains from Angry Birds, working to build the perfect flying contraption to help the piggies navigate through 60 diverse levels while grabbing as many eggs as possible.
Though developer Rovio looks to have a quick hit on its hands, the real challenge will be whether or not Bad Piggies can achieve anything approaching the lasting success of its predecessor. Rovio's last game, the non-Angry-Birds-related Amazing Alex, had similar early success but quickly faded from the charts.
