Without competition from NBC's The Voice, The X Factor on Fox saw a slight ratings rise last night, in both the advertiser coveted 18-49 demo and total viewers. The singing competition pulled in a total of 9.4 million viewers - up 11 percent from last week - and a rating of 3.5 in the demo. Of course, the ratings still aren't at up to the 20 million viewers Simon Cowell famously said he expected for the series before its U.S. premiere last year, but you can't always get what you want and all that.

Also airing last night was CBS's premiere of Survivor, which pulled in 11.2 million viewers - impressive, but down from last year's season premiere in the 18-49 demo.
