Amazon didn't just unveil a bigger, better model of the Kindle Fire today, it also updated the original. The new Kindle Fire looks like the old one on the outside, but it's getting a power boost and a price drop, once again restoring the entry-level tablet to gotta-have-it territory.

Kindle Fire v. 2 features twice the RAM, a 40 percent faster processor and longer battery life. And if that weren't enough, Amazon has also slashed $40 off the price, bringing the Fire down to $159.

The new tablet will launch September 14.
