If you were excited about making a double feature of Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Django Unchained and Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby this Christmas day, we've got some bad news: Warner Bros. has opted to push the release date of Gatsby from December 25th to sometime in the summer of 2013. So if the world ends this year, we're screwed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the decision was made so that the movie would not have to go head-to-head with Django Unchained, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio - who is also starring in Gatsby.

"Based on what we've seen, Baz Luhrmann's incredible work is all we anticipated and so much more... It truly brings Fitzgerald's American classic to life in a completely immersive, visually stunning and exciting way," said Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman in a statement about the release date move. "We think moviegoers of all ages are going to embrace it, and it makes sense to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible."

What do you think of the change?
