Both The Bourne Legacy and The Campaign beat The Dark Knight Rises at the box office this weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. The site is reporting that Bourne took the top spot by pulling in an estimated $40.2 million over the weekend. That opening weekend total is still lower than The Bourne Supremacy ($52.5 million) and The Bourne Ultimatum ($69 million) had, but for a franchise changing its lead actor, this is a solid haul.

Will Ferrell and Zach GalifianakisThe Campaign came in second place with an estimated $10.25 million on Friday, en route to a possible $27.4 million weekend. The official amount has not been released as of yet, but it should be somewhere close to that estimate.

Meanwhile, The Dark Knight Rises dropped to the third spot on the box office chart after a three-week reign at the top with an estimated weekend total of $19.5 million. This brings Rises to a total of $390 million domestically and a $768.5 million combined worldwide gross.
