Despite earlier reports stating that The Bourne Legacy was projected to pull in $40.2 million this weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter, final figures place the film's earnings at $38.1 million - $2.2 million less than anticipated. Why the large drop? Reportedly, the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, which aired this past Sunday on NBC is to lame - apparently, film earnings were "down across the board" on Sunday.

As for the other newly released film in the box office, The Campaign, its final earnings are reported to be $26.6 million - only a $1 million drop from this weekend's estimate.

Did you head out to the movies this weekend?
