During a fundraiser at the Connecticut home of Harvey Weinstein, President Barack Obama took a moment to talk about Anne Hathaway’s performance as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, according to The Huffington Post.

“She’s spectacular,” Obama said about the actress, who was in attendance at the fundraiser. “I got a chance to see Batman, and she was the best thing in it. That's just my personal opinion."

We're pretty sure that Hathaway's contribution to Obama's re-election campaign didn't hurt his opinion of her, but that's still pretty high praise from the most powerful man in the free world. The article goes on to claim that Hathaway has the best chance to win an Oscar out of all of the actors involved in the film, much like Heath Ledger was able to do as the Joker in 2008’s The Dark Knight

Do you think her performance as the feline femme fatale was powerful enough to earn a nomination? Let us know.
