David Cross Says The New Season Of “Arrested Development” Has Been Extended To 13 Episodes

After an inexplicably long absence from our lives, Arrested Development is primed to make a comeback next year when a brand-new season of the cult favorite show hits Netflix. And until now, the general assumption was that the new season would be 10 episodes long. But in an interview with Rolling Stone, series star David Cross dropped a very satisfying bit of knowledge on us about the length.

When asked if 10 episodes was still the plan, Cross replied, “I think it's going to be 13 episodes, not 10. There's too much story. Some characters will have two-parters. Everybody sort of participates, sometimes in a bigger way and sometimes in a tiny little thread that goes through everybody else's stories.”

An extra hour-and-a-half of Arrested Development sounds good to us, and it seems like this new version of the series will be packed with the same intricate plotting and meta-humor as before. Let's hope this leads to a few more seasons of the show.
