Assassin's Creed 3 feature naval warfare for the first time in the series, but it would be Assassin's Creed unless the ships were equipped with some crazy weapons, right?

There's round shot, which is just a normal cannonball; chain shot, which aims to take down enemies' masts and rigging; and grape shot, an anti-personnel weapon.

We thought all that sounded pretty unrealistic until we looked it up on Wikipedia, and it turns out ships really used to roll with all these different kinds of ammunition. Those kooks at Ubisoft really have done their research, it seems.

Are you looking forward to taking to the high seas, or do you think Assassin's Creed 3 should stick to dry land? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
