Activision announced today that Oscar-winning musician Trent Reznor has composed the theme for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

The Nine Inch Nails frontman, who composed the soundtracks for The Social Network and the Hollywood adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has written an "aggressive-sounding" song for the upcoming entry in the epic shooter franchise.

Though Reznor has made a name for himself as a film composer, Black Ops 2 won't be the first game he's written music for. He worked with iD Software to make music for both Quake and Doom 3.

Reznor, a gamer and Call of Duty: Black Ops fan, called the series the "cutting-edge" of AAA game design in an interview with USA Today. Reznor said that the game, which focuses on the series of events leading up to a massive attack on Los Angeles, calls for a "weighty" piece instead of a "gung-ho patriotic-feeling kind of theme song."

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 hits stores November 13th.
