Normally when it comes to Minecraft, the statement "Look how good that water looks" can only be made in jest. With this new mod from Sonic Ether, though, the water legitimately looks so good that you'll be left wondering why the octopuses and sheep still look like shit.
"This poorly recorded video is meant to demonstrate the advantages and drawbacks to the technique that I developed to trace water reflections in screen space," Sonic writes.
It's not perfect, he notes, but "the overall effect is pleasing and looks vastly better than the solid blue blocks that were vanilla Minecraft's water."
