According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fringe co-creators Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci are developing a new series for Fox based on the age-old short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. If you're not familiar/if you slept through most of high school English classes, it's the one with a guy named Ichabod who's thought to be conveniently wasted by Headless Horseman just as he begins competing with some other dude named Brom for this hot girl's hand in marriage. Also, the town - Sleepy Hollow, that is - is under some sort of enchantment that renders it and its residents a bit hazy, and prone to believe in the supernatural. Yeah, literature!

Anyway, apparently Kurtzman and Orci's version will be set in modern times, and focus more on the supernatural aspect of the story - the pilot is described to focus on Crane as he "partners with the town's local female sheriff to bring peace to a beleaguered community."
