Apple yesterday claimed a key win in its long-fought patent war with Samsung. A U.S. court issued a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s sale of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 here in the States, forcing the Korean manufacturer to pull last year’s model—and not last month’s update—of its signature tablet off the shelves temporarily. The company has since filed an appeal, arguing that Apple’s claim comes down to a single patent, and a questionable one at that. “Should Apple continue to make legal claims based on such a generic design patent, design innovation and progress in the industry could be restricted,” Samsung said in a statement.
