HuffPo Teams With UStream For Citizen Journalism Platform

A new avenue for live reporting.

None

UStream will hand over its citizen journalism content exclusively to Huffington Post, as part of a deal struck between the two parties today.

The blog network will, in turn, post the videos on its breaking news pages, with the hopes that UStream users—which totals almost 37 million—will continue to use the mobile-friendly platform to document newsworthy events. In the past, users have recorded live from the likes of  Occupy Wall Street and the Arab Spring.

Additionally, HuffPo and UStream are launching the “Off The Bus Cover The Conventions Contest,” offering applicants the opportunity to report on the upcoming DNC and RNC in Charlotte and Tampa, all expenses paid, as well as support and training provided. No salary, though, which isn’t very surprising.
