Capcom announced today that they've been very happy with the sales of recent RPG Dragon's Dogma. The publisher reveals that over one million copies of the game have been sold in the past month.

With that news, the publisher has announced that they plan to grow Dragon's Dogma into a major franchise.

"Dragon's Dogma is part of Capcom's basic strategy of establishing game franchises through the creation of new brands," Capcom said in a prepared statement. "This game was developed with the goal of creating another pillar of earnings for Capcom alongside Monster Hunter and Sengoku BASARA."

Capcom also said that, in order to grow the value of the game and brand, they will continue adding DLC to Dragon's Dogma. They did not, however, discuss a timetable for the now-inevitable sequel.
