It doesn't take much to enrage comic fans across the internet, so when DC Comics announced that it would be putting out a series of prequel books based on Alan Moore's legendary Watchmen series, it was like throwing a match into a dynamite factory. The response ranged from excited to curious to absolutely livid. But no matter how you view the project, there is no denying that there are some great artists involved.

Illustrators like Darwyn Cooke, Lee Bermejo, Jae Lee, and Amanda Conner are all lending their substantial talent to these books in order to ensure that they will, at the very least, be among the most artistically impressive comics on shelves. And now, Buzzfeed has released some new illustrations from Before Watchmen after a visit to the DC offices that should quell the fears of longtime comic book fans. Check them out below.
