Starbreeze, makers of the recent FPS reboot of Syndicate, announced that their next project will be a free-to-play project called Cold Mercury.

Though Starbreeze downsized after Syndicate, representitives say the studio "will not leave the AAA segment," implying that they may be taking on more projects than before.

"We are discussing with several leading game publisher on publisher financed games, but we will broaden our product portfolio of games in the new business models and segments that have arisen in the games industry. I am convinced that Starbreeze will be successful with the new games," said Starbreeze CEO Mikael Nermark.

Meanwhile, the studio is looking for a distributor for their current project, P13, which Starbreeze is creating in collaboration with Sweedish filmmaker Josef Fares.
