"Journey" Dev thatgamecompany Going "Beyond Just PlayStation" For Future Projects

The developers of "flOw," "Flower" and "Journey" say their contract with Sony is up.

None

Speaking with Push Square, Jenova Chen—co-founder and creative director of flOw, Flower and Journey developer thatgamecompany— said the studio is ready to move beyond the PlayStation brand.

"Thatgamecompany had a three game contract with Sony," he said, "so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive. Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation. We are still in the process of negotiating, but I hope that we can announce it [soon]. But right now it’s still in the process."

Hopefully we'll start seeing Chen's evocative and imaginative style of games on XBLA, Steam and even in larger retail forms. We'd welcome their branching out to bigger projects. Are you looking forward to Journey's March 13 release? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
