Barnes & Noble Released An 8GB Nook Tablet Today

The Kindle Fire gets a direct competitor.

None

Looking over at Amazon’s bottom line after the holiday success of the Kindle Fire has probably prompted Barnes & Noble to get in on the action: the book retailer has released its own 8GB Nook Tablet online and in stores today, for $199. It shares pretty much the same specs as the original Nook Tablet, minus the change in storage of course. And it’s price puts it on par with the Kindle Fire, though to undercut Amazon, B&N has also dropped the Nook Color e-reader’s price to $169. Your move, Apple.
