It's a success!

Everyone loves an underdog story, and now we've got one to usher in the new year. Indie dev Supergiant Games has revealed on their blog that Bastion, their first game, has sold more than 500,000 copies—a number that at first seemed like a pipe dream to them, they said.

"When we set out to make Bastion, a sales number like that seemed astronomical to us, so it feels great to have hit that mark," creative director and writer Greg Kasavin said. "It goes to show that a lot of folks out there like what we're doing and want us to keep going, which is great, because we intend to stick together as a team and do just that."

The holiday season's Steam and Xbox Live sales no doubt helped achieve that number, but either way, congratulations to the team at Supergiant—judging by the universal praise Bastion's received, they deserve it.
