Panasonic has expanded upon its Toughbook series of notebooks to now include tablets, appropriately dubbed “Toughpads.” The first two entries in the new line will be the 10-inch A1 and 7-inch B1 dropping early next year.

Unlike the Toughbook, the Toughpad hasn’t been made to resemble a construction-site toolbox and still looks like a tablet, despite its advertised ability to withstand any and all elements, from hurricanes to dust storms (just peep the video above). The unbreakable shell will reportedly house a 1.2 GHz dual-core Marvell processor,16GB HD, LTE or WiMAX connectivity, and a 10-hour user-replaceable battery.

Pricing starts at $1,299 for the larger A1 model—no word yet on the B1.
