“Real fear, in real time” is the tagline for this Uruguyan horror flick that was released Stateside earlier this year. Shot with a handheld photo camera in ONE CONTINUOUS TAKE, The Silent House follows a young woman and her father who, for some reason, decide to spend the night in a dilapidated house that has no electricity. Something sinister has — obviously — taken place in the building at some point, and the sinister inhabitants who still hang out in the place make life imaginably difficult for the new houseguests. If you can’t get enough of the Paranormal Activity series, this should be right up your alley.
