"The Bourne Legacy" Actor Albert Finney Joins "Bond 23"

Just when you thought that director Sam Mendes couldn't bring in any more quality actors—in walks Mr. Finney!

None

It seems as if more quality actors have been brought in to remove the taste of Quantum of Solace from our collective brains. Bond 23 is beginning to sound like another thesp-heavy cast equal to Ruben Fleischer's The Gangster Squad as it is being reported that Albert Finney (Big Fish, The Bourne Ultimatum) is signing on to join the cast of the spy action-thriller.

Though the film already boasts the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, and Naomie Harris aboard with regulars Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, Finney was brought in as a surprise for the cast at a recent table reading, and has snagged a decent-sized role playing a Foreign Office chief who will no doubt butt heads with Dench's "M" character.

While there's still no title for the adventure yet (Skyfall has been rumored, but not confirmed), it now features some serious acting talent. All of this continues to sound more and more enticing, as more news develops. It's really good to see Finney back on the big screen, as he has been on a break from acting to combat cancer. Clearly, he's in an espionage mood as he'll show up again as Dr. Albert Hirsch in The Bourne Legacy.

For 007 fans, we'll get to see how well this cast "bonds" as the untitled Bond 23 film opens up on November 9, 2012.
