According to former Food Network producer David Page, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host Guy Fieri hates gays and Jews, but loves women. He loves them so much, apparently, that he borderline sexually-harasses them.
A Minneapolis City Pagesarticle shared some of Fieri’s alleged feelings on having to work with gays. According to Page, Fieri felt he needed “protection from homosexuals,” and at the very least advanced warning if he would be in the vicinity of any. Page referenced one specific incident where Fieri called him after walking out of a restaurant following his assesment that the two men operating a restaurant were in a relationship. Page claims that Fieri said “You can’t send me to talk to gay people without warning! Those people weird me out!”
As for Jewish people, Fieri apparently told Page “You know, it’s true: Jews are cheap.” When it came to women, well this is where it gets really classy. Page mentions that whenever a female said anything about “cream,” Fieri would respond with rapid-fire sexual innuendo. Page added that editors were forced to watch Fieri’s eye line, as it was “always on breasts.”
Queerty initially reported that “Fieri declined to comment for this story through his spokespeople,” but Jesse Derris, one of his spokespeople, reached out to SFist to do damage control and refute everything Page said.
