Who says women can't be funny? In Bridesmaids, we meet Annie (Kristen Wiig), the perpetual bridesmaid in all aspects of life. As her world crumbles, she finds out that her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) is getting married. To fill out her squad of bridesmaids, Lillian selects the pretentious Helen (Rose Byrne), the clueless newlywed Becca (Ellie Kemper), washed up Spring Break legend (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and the all-around ridiculous Megan (Melissa McCarthy). Even as the Maid of Honor, Annie learns that nobody will let her be great. Because it’s rare that more than three people go on a weekend excursion without some absurd shit happening, a series of slapstick events occur.
It’s business as usual at The Troc, meaning the film won’t start until 8 p.m., but you should still get there prior to 7 p.m. for free beer and popcorn. You can get as drunk as you want and laugh as loud as you want (if you want), without having to cough up money on the DVD.
