If the hurricane does, in fact, hit New York, there are a number of coping methods available. If you're in a relationship or have a willing neighbor, you can spend the weekend between the sheets while the rain pounds the roof. But if you aren't so lucky, there's always booze.

Here's the recipe for a strong-ass cocktail to make the weekend manageable. It is, of course, served in a hurricane glass.

---

The Hurricane:
1 oz vodka
1/4 oz grenadine syrup
1 oz gin
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz 151
1 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 oz triple sec
grapefruit juice
pineapple juice

Pour all but the juices, in order listed, into a hurricane glass, three-quarters filled with ice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice. Serve.
