Maybe the joke really is on us? After grossing $205 million worldwide in its first five days of release, the superbad The Hangover Part II has, unsurprisingly, earned the Wolfpack a third go-round; it's been announced that Craig Mazin, who co-wrote the current record-breaking sequel, has been hired to pen the third installment.

Story details for The Hangover Part III are being kept under wraps, but we're pretty sure it'll go follow this approach: Mazin will dig up his Part II script, erase all mentions of Bangkok, and insert a new location name into each blank space until he's ready to hand in his new Part III draft. Call us pessimistic all you want, but, even if Mazin does come up with something original, chances are it'll still underwhelm. Just look at his past writing jobs: Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4, and Superhero Movie. "Scary" is an understatement.

The Hangover Part II starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Jamie Chung, is in theaters now. Don't say we never warned you.
