Unreal Engine 3 DX11 Update: Now With 100% More Awesome

Instead of developing new consoles to take advantage of these graphics, Sony and Microsoft should just implant them in our brains. Oh, that's the plan? Great!

The future of gaming looks abso-friggin-lutely amazing.  A fresh trailer highlights the DX11 features (that's the fancy graphical stuff based on Microsoft's DirectX collection of programming tools) that are being implemented in Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. You have to see it to believe it: shadowed point light reflections, soft-edge motion blur, DX11 tesselation and displacement, and apex clothing are among the fancy names given to highly technical wizardry that we don’t really understand. What’s important, however, is that the next generation of games will utilize this technology and blow our minds with dazzling eye candy we’ve never before seen on PCs, consoles, and mobile devices. And possibly on our own retinas once it's encoded in the sub-dermal microchips that will keep up track of us in the New World Order! [via Kotaku]
