There is nothing that the ego trip crew cannot do, and do well, from magazines and books to TV and stage shows. Last year, the gang launched the hip-hop documentary film series Under the Influence of ego trip, and it was such a hit that they returned with Under the Influence of ego trip Pt. 2 in February.

The series, which is co-curated by Andreas Vingaard and screened at Harlem's Maysles Institute, features carefully selected docs either made during or focused on the early hip-hop era. In February, ego trip put people on to Founding Fathers, a controversial doc about the role that DJs, emcees, and promoters in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan played in early hip-hop.

The second of three all-new monthly film programs is tomorrow night (Thursday, March 31) at 7:30 p.m., and it features Rap City (1988) and Writing On the Wall (1986). Ego trip member Chairman Mao explains why you can't miss this double-feature:
