The ending for Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, is so secret that only a few people have been trusted with such an important piece of information—namely Gary Oldman. The British actor, who's played top cop turned commissioner Jim Gordon in both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, told the U.K.'s Absolute Radio that he's one of the only people who knows how The Dark Knight Rises ends.
"The story's fabulous," said Oldman. "He [Nolan] sort of brings it around. I can't say anymore."
The actor admits that, although his eight-year-long business relationship with the Inception director has afforded him knowledge about the trilogy's finale, he still has to pass strict security tests before he could touch the script. "First of all, to get into the production office, you have someone meet you and then there's keys to various doors that lock," said Oldman. "The script, you read in the production office and there's no ending. He [Nolan] tells you the ending, so it doesn't leak and get out on the Internet. It's very tight security."
The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Juno Temple, swoops into theaters on July 20, 2012.
