It's no surprise that the bizarre and sexy adventure game Catherine has sold well in Japan.  How well it's sold, though, is another matter. In its first week it’s already sold over 160,000 copies in Japan—which puts it miles ahead of Marvel vs. Capcom 3's 80,000 units sold.  Those numbers are a little crazy, especially coming against such a popular franchise. Up until very recently, no one knew much about Catherine’s gameplay and Atlus has confirmed that they will be reducing the difficulty on some of the levels in a future patch. Catherine has received heaps of hype based on its wacky plotline and sex-injected marketing, and ultimately that’s why we’re seeing these types of sales figures. Well, that and that otakus will do anything to see a bra. [via Kotaku]
