Last year, the good folks at It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia put out the holiday DVD A Very Sunny Christmas, in which they paid homage to classic claymation Christmas specials like Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) with their own sick sequence. Last night, Community took it one step further and did an entire Christmas episode with stop-motion. They were both pretty fucking awesome in our estimation but, like our mom said when she locked us in the punishment closet for getting an A- when our brother brought home an A, somebody is always the winner. Complex breaks down the episodes to crown one. Keep reading to see which claymation special was better...

CLAYMATION LENGTH
COMMUNITY: 21:28
IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: 2:38
ADVANTAGE:Community

CLAYMATION EXPLANATION
COMMUNITY: After Abed's Christmastime family movie-watching ritual is ruined, he wakes to see the world in stop-motion, which is perfect for a quest to learn the meaning of Christmas.
IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: While Frank is driving a Lamborghini Countach, Dennis' dream car, which Frank buys and keeps just to fuck with Dennis, he hits a patch of black ice, spins out, and is hurled out the open door, hitting his head and sparking a "meaning of Christmas" vision.
ADVANTAGE: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
MUSICAL NUMBER
COMMUNITY: The study group sings a sweet song about the individualized meaning of Christmas (singing, honoring the birth of Jesus, playing video games for two weeks, drinking booze, and saying you love people)—while physically assaulting psychology professor Dr. Ian Duncan, who Abed sees as a Christmas warlock trying to make everyone confront cold, sad reality during the holidays.
IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: Frank's elf guide describes what the Paddy's gang will do to him if he keeps playing Christmas pranks on them: "They'll rip your arm off at the bone, eat it like an ice cream cone and gouge your eyes out with a spoon, blow them up like two balloons, keep them close so you can see as they chainsaw off your knee, bash your body with a board and hang you by your spinal cord...and then they'll rip you down so you survive, grind your legs while you're alive, throw you to a gator pit, let them gnaw on you a bit, pull you out and stab your face, spray your wounds all full of mace, now they're really getting brazen, when you're burned by racist singing raisins..."
ADVANTAGE: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
CARTOON VIOLENCE
COMMUNITY: In an attempt to get Abed to snap out of his stop-motion fantasy, Dr. Duncan shakes the shit out of him like Michael Jackson's dad taught him therapy. After assaulting Duncan during the study group's big musical number, Annie uses a remote control to have him carried away by a Christmas pterodactyl, which she then blows up.
IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: The elf's torture song (above) is depicted in graphic detail.
ADVANTAGE: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
NUDITY
COMMUNITY: Abed imagines Shirley as topless "Baby Doll Shirley." Sadly, she is about 13 years too young to get excited about it (and another four to get excited about it without going to jail). On the other hand, it's better than elf penis.
IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: Charlie, whose prostitute mom serviced all the local mall Santas and elves when he was growing up, imagines the claymation vision ending with the elf flashing his shiny elf penis. In claymation, Charlie is depicted as masturbating under a blanket on the couch while Frank watches.
ADVANTAGE: Community
FINAL VERDICT: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Though Sunny's claymation sequence is far shorter than Community's, it packs more sex, violence, and dirty language into each of those minutes. Still, we ain't mad at Community. Do yourself a holiday favor and watch both specials below.
