On Thursday night, just before his sold out show at Terminal 5 in New York City, Young Thug revealed that he would be donating proceeds from the concert to Planned Parenthood. The Atlanta artist announced his decision in a tweet, explaining that he "was a teenage parent." He also said that "planned and unplanned parenthood is beautiful."

Young Thug’s donation comes at a particularly fraught time for Planned Parenthood, since Donald Trump and congressional Republicans have been trying hard to defund the nonprofit organization. His decision brought on a wave of support. The reaction on Twitter was overwhelmingly positive, as fans were happy to know that he supports the organization.

A Planned Parenthood spokesperson said to Complex in a statement that "over the past few months, Planned Parenthood has seen an unprecedented outpouring of support from both new and longtime supporters and patients -- online and through emails, phone calls, donations, and actions. It's clear that this is a reflection of the trusted relationship people have with Planned Parenthood as the nation's leading reproductive health care provider and advocate -- as this is a critical moment for reproductive rights and health in the U.S. We welcome new supporters of our work and will continue to educate communities about the rights of women, men and young people. That includes a woman's ability to decide if and when she will have a child, under what conditions, and that she has the support to live in communities without fear of violence. Most importantly, we’re grateful for the outpouring of support, as we will never back down, and we will never stop providing the care our patients need.”

In addition, the Planned Parenthood Black Community responded to Young Thug’s tweet and said that they "are here to help young people make educated sex and parenting decisions."

Young Thug’s latest album,Beautiful Thugger Girls, was released two weeks ago. Thursday night's show at Terminal 5 show was the first time the rapper performed the album live. During his concert, he brought out Lil Yachty, who performed three songs, as well as Dae Dae and Ugly God
