Kendrick Lamar's "Lust" has inspired a moving short film. The unofficial interpretation of the Damn cut comes from creative collective Combined Culture and was released in celebration of Lamar's 30th birthday earlier this month.

"The film revolves around the life of a stereotypical black man," Tevin Tavares, Combined Culture producer, toldHipHopDX in a statement Wednesday. "In him trying to do all of the things that are detrimental to him, he essentially writes his own death wish. Before he can make a change to his ways, it's too late." The "Lust" short film is Combined Culture's birthday-timed tribute to "our lord and savior."

Combined Culture started as a self-described "creative experiment" at the University of Oregon in 2015. In just two years, the collective has grown to include contributors from Los Angeles, New York City, and elsewhere. Check out more of their work right here.

This unofficial take on "Lust" arrives amid rumors of a forthcoming video for Lamar's Rihanna-featuring Damn single "Loyalty." Though nothing has been announced from any of the involved parties, a clip alleging to show the behind-the-scenes happenings of the "Loyalty" shoot popped up on social media two weeks ago:

The leading Album of the Year contender will be supported by the Damn Tour this summer. The tour, featuring support from Travis Scott and YG on select dates, kicks off July 12 in Phoenix, Arizona.
