Chief Keef Reportedly Arrested in South Dakota (UPDATE)

Chief Keef is reportedly locked up in Sioux Falls.

UPDATED 5:32 pm ET:

Chief Keef's management issued the following statement to The Fader:

"Our lawyers are actively in communication with the court and jail. We are confident that the situation will be handled in a timely fashion and that Keith will be released within the next 24 hours at the latest."

Original story below:

Chief Keef has been arrested in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Keef was charged with possession or use of drug paraphernalia and possession of between two ounces and less than a half-pound of marijuana, Argus Leader first reported.

A Minnehaha County Jail log shows Keef's intake time as 9:21 a.m. Monday. Keef was reportedly busted at an airport in South Dakota after forgetting he had marijuana on him, TMZ said in their report Monday afternoon.

Keef's tour schedule had him in Sioux Falls for a performance at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall Sunday night.

Keef's most recent social media activity makes no mention of the South Dakota show. On Instagram and Twitter, fans have already started posting "Free Keef" and "Free Sosa" in the comments:

In May, an arrest warrant for Keef was issued in Miami, Florida. The warrant, TMZreported at the time, stemmed from Keef's no-show in court on marijuana possession and DUI charges. Speaking with XXL last month, Keef's rep said the warrant had been "quietly lifted." A recent assault allegation against Keef has also been dropped, the rep said.

Keef's most recent full-length release was the long-awaited project Thot Breaker, which finally dropped earlier this month. The project, originally set for a Valentine's Day release, features production from Mike Will Made-It, Young Chop, and more.
