T.I. Addresses Funk Flex's 2Pac Comments: 'I Was Taught Never to Speak Down on a Dead Man'

T.I. addressed Flex's recent 2Pac comments, saying he was taught to never "speak down on a dead man."

T.I. addressed Funkmaster Flex's recent 2Pac comments, questioning the Hot 97 DJ's decision to speak down on a dead man. Regardless of how convinced Flex is of his own account of the NYC Quad Studios incident, T.I. said, now is not the time to bring it up.

"Respectfully Bruh… on G-Code…regardless of what YOU THINK the validity of your statement is, I was taught never to speak down on a dead man," T.I. said in an Instagram caption on a post featuring screenshots of relevant @FunkFlex tweets. "Considering they ain't here to speak up for themselves." T.I. reminded Flex that he was on the air at the time, which would have been a more appropriate moment to make these comments:

On Instagram Live earlier this week, Flex likened 2Pac to Cheddar Bob. "Came in there, popped himself in the leg," Flex said of the 1994 shooting and robbery at Quad Recording Studios. "Popped himself first. That's what happened." Flex claimed that 2Pac "panicked, pulled out the steel, shot himself."

T.I. joined Snoop Dogg, YG, Alicia Keys, and Treach at 2Pac's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month. During a medley of classic 2Pac tracks, T.I. performed the 1993 hit "Keep Ya Head Up." The Rock Hall's 2017 induction class also included Pearl Jam, Yes, Journey, Joan Baez, and ELO.
