"None of that bouncy banana boat nonsense, it's more real like this."

Known as much for his behind-the-scenes production work as he is for his own music, Swedish producer Blende's new single "Back To Summertime" could well tip the balance in favour of the latter. Bringing in The Rapture frontman, singer Mattie Safer, Blende crafts a disco-tinged, funky summer banger with plenty of colourful melody and a big, catchy hook. Despite the optimistic bounce to "Back To Summertime", however, there's a sadness within the track's lyrics.

Blende told Complex over email that he "wasn't paying too much attention to the lyrics at first. And even though the title is hinting at the opposite, it's really quite a sad song. But I like that aspect — you book a resort holiday and then it rains for two weeks. None of that bouncy banana boat nonsense here!"

"Back To Summertime" drops April 28 via Eskimo Recordings.
