The Weeknd on Trump's P*ssygate Scandal: 'How Do You Even Grab a P*ssy?'

The Weeknd talks with GQ about marriage, having children, and Trump's offensive comments aimed at women.

Not content with dropping a must-read Chance the Rapper interview just one day ago, GQ on Thursday unveiled an equally must-read cover story chat with The Weeknd. The timing here, as anyone who spotted one of yesterday's manykissing reports would agree, is amazing. Though the topic of relationships (marriage, children, etc.) is discussed at length, The Weeknd saved his most quotable thoughts for a reflection on the misogynistic declarations of the man currently slated to move into the White House next week.

When asked byGQ's Devin Friedman about the possibility of "groupie interactions" giving someone an "oversize sense of self," The Weeknd said he'd rather focus on what makes people "want to fuck with [him]" in the first place: music. Pressed further by GQ using Trump as an example of famous men who seemingly use their fame to take advantage of other people, The Weeknd minced no words.

"I don't know anybody that would do that," he said, referencing the leaked tape of Trump declaring he could grab women "by the pussy" thanks to fame. "I know a lot of people in the industry, and I don't know anybody. Like, a random girl that like you just spoke to? No. I mean… No. How do you even grab a pussy? Like, is it even grabbable?"

Last May, The Weeknd and Belly protested Trump by bailing on a scheduled Jimmy Kimmel Live performance. In a statement to the Associated Press, Belly said his music was a "campaign of positivity and love" that directly conflicted with what Trump represents. "I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world—from religion to race," Belly said at the time. "I just didn't want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that the majority of us don't agree with."
