Rick Ross Might Be Locking Down Yet Another Jay Z Feature

A picture is worth a thousand words, as Rick Ross shared photos from a studio session with Jay Z.

Some 10 years after allegedly winning a bidding war to bring Rick Ross to Def Jam, the ties between Jay Z and Ross appear to remain strong. Jay Z was recently spotted in the studio with Rick Ross, and the latter made sure to capture the moment for his 5.9 million Instagram followers.

Ross is believed to be working on his ninth album, tentatively titled Rather You Than Me, which is slated for a release under Ross’ new deal with Epic Records. Jay Z graced Ross’ “Hustlin’” remix with a feature, linked up with the Carol City rapper on "Maybach Music," and also appeared on 2010’s “Free Mason.” Additionally, Jay appeared alongside Dr. Dre on “3 Kings” from Ross’ 2012 album, God Forgives, I Don’t, as well as “Movin’ Bass” from 2014’s Hood Billionaire.

A clearly appreciative Rockie Fresh was also on hand, and the Maybach Music Group MC posted similar photos indicating he was aware of the gravity of the meeting.

“Today I met Jay-Z,” Fresh wrote in his Instagram caption. “I appreciate my bro @richforever for putting me in rooms like this. Probably one of the coolest days of my life. Hov put me on a lot of shit today. Always great when you can learn from legends.”

There’s currently no release date scheduled for Rick Ross’ Rather You Than Me album, but various reports have the project slated for a release during the first half of 2017.
