Chance the Rapper Shares Hilarious Highlights From President Obama’s Farewell Bash

With no cameras allowed at President Obama's farewell party, Chance the Rapper provides all the A-list highlights.

Between intimate family pictures and hot takes on Kanye West’s discography, Chance the Rapper’s social media feeds have been drawing attention as of late. Chance was one of the attendees at outgoing President Barack Obama’s farewell party over the weekend, and the videos—which appear to be from Chance’s Instagram "stories" feed—continued the Chicago MC’s trend of on-point commentary.

“This is the last time…the party was amazing,” Chance noted. “It just ended at 4:00 am. My dad put a black man in the White House. Y’all can’t tell me nothin’. Stay black no matter what. Don’t let ‘em stop you.”

Chance then dropped some off-the-cuff commentary about the night’s events, pointing out that his Burberry ensemble earned him best dressed honors. Other unofficial superlatives went to Dave Chappelle for having the strongest handshake, Esperanza Spalding for best looking, and Tom Hanks and Robert De Niro for best hug. There were reportedly no cameras allowed in the venue, but A-list stars such as Sir Paul McCartey, John Legend, Jay Z, and Oprah Winfrey were all reported to be on hand.

“It was historic,” Chance added. “It was black. It was beautiful. There was dancing, there was laughing, there was love, and there was hugs.”

After serving the maximum of two terms, President Obama will end his tenure Jan. 20, 2017 when Donald J. Trump takes office as the 45th President of the United States.
