Power couple Remy Ma and Papoose stopped by Hot 97 to sit down with Funkmaster Flex and went in on the mic with some very hot freestyles.

The Terror Squad MC went up first by dropping bars over Nas' classic "N.Y. State of Mind" beat. Before she began, Remy told the camera that she wrote the rap on the drive over. "I just need y’all to know, I pre-approved and showed Flex the date and time this shit was written," she said, dismissing any questions there would be about her looking at her phone.

From there, she just went at the beat with plenty of punchlines like "I don't shade/I say names/You don't want me to shout you" and "See your whole style bitten/Pieces ain't hittin'/When Nas said it was written, was talkin bout y'all bitches." She caps the whole thing off by rapping about her Soul Train Awards and her two Grammy nominations. Her hit with Fat Joe, "All the Way Up" was nominated for two Grammys as the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

The New York MC also caught up with Paper magazine recently as part of their "Outspoken" issue that highlights some of the most important voices in art and culture today. Speaking on the lack of unity between women in hip-hop, Remy said, "I don't feel like much has changed for women in hip-hop, not only since I was in prison, but since I started in the game. There's still so much discord between females in the game, whether it's spoken or unspoken."  She went on to add that "women are nurturing, women are loving, women are comforting" but that it "saddens" her to see female MCs getting ahead by putting others down. "Love yourself all you want, but don't diss me if we ain't got nothing going on against each other."
