Music fans who were unfamiliar with the woman who brought Beyoncé and Solange into the world have been getting acquainted with Ms. Tina Lawson thanks to her interlude on Solange’s A Seat at the Table and Lawson’s rather active Instagram account. When she’s not shouting out Holly Robinson Peete or thanking Tracee Ellis Ross for plugging one of her daughter's albums, you can apparently find Ms. Lawson staying on top of her personal training via Instagram with her trainer, Patrick Goudeau.
For the better part of the last week, Lawson has been peppering her Instagram feed with videos of her in various workout routines with Goudeau. Naturally, Lawson is decked out in the latest from Beyoncé's Ivy Park collection and alternating between “Formation” and Solange’s “Mad” in a few clips. Lawson also made sure her shoe game was representative of the family, courtesy of a pair of Puma sneakers from Solange’s “Word to the Woman”/Saint Heron collaboration. Although from the joking caption of one post, even Lawson has to wait for the new Ivy Park gear, as she wrote, “They finally sent me a box of stuff! It is too cute! I'm hooked up, honey. Thanks Bill and Kaleb.”
With Solange previously citing Lawson as the inspiration for her stance on Afrocentricity with the “Tina Taught Me” interlude, she may also be the source for Beyoncé and Solange’s trim and fit physiques.
