NBA All Star

The Roots are heading to New Orleans as part of the 2017 NBA All-Star game festivities. In a press release on Friday, the league announced that the legendary group will tip off the 66th NBA All-Star game during the "Entertainment Series present by JBL," which will kick off the festivities before the player introductions. This news follows the announcement from earlier this week that John Legend will be performing at halftime of the star-studded game.

The press release states that the Roots will bring fans through a "dynamic journey celebrating the evolution and history of the game of basketball." The 2017 NBA All-Star game will take place in New Orleans on Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on TNT. The actual game is just a part of the special weekend, which also includes the 3-Point Shootout and Dunk Contest. You can check out the full schedule of events here, and stay tuned for much more as we get closer to the big weekend!
