On the day of The Return of East Atlanta Santa's release, Gucci Mane stopped by The Breakfast Club for the first time since getting out of prison earlier this year.

Things hit an awkward note when Gucci hinted that he and co-host Angela Yee had a "history" together. The pair denied that they had hooked up, but Gucci quickly added Yee "was on my dick back in the day" and that she would text him asking him what hotel he was staying at when he was in New York. Yee denied ever texting him.

There was plenty of other ground to cover and Charlamagne wasted no time asking Gucci if he feels that prison saved his life. "I think it did," he answered. "I think it saved my life and somebody else's life because somebody was going to get it. I felt like I was going to hurt somebody. I just was so mad. Somebody was going to get it. It didn't matter who it was." He also added that he couldn't wait to see people like Monica and Rick Ross who he had ranted about on his Twitter and apologize for the wrong things he had said.

The conversation then shifted to Gucci's undisputed influence on the industry on artists like Migos, Waka, Young Thug, and more. He revealed that he sold his rights to Thug's music to the rapper's now label 300 since he couldn't help him with his career while behind bars. He then goes on to talk about meeting Mike Will Made-It when the producer was 17 and coming up with OJ da Juiceman.

Gucci also addressed his current relationship with Waka Flocka. "I'm happy for him. I wish him nothing but success. I wish him well, but the door closed for me. If I ain't talked to you in 3 years, no need for us to have a talk."

The hosts also ran through some more rappers to get Gucci's take including ASAP Rocky who he dubbed "dope as hell." Soulja Boy cites Gucci as a huge influence, but he admitted "the stuff I'm seeing him do, I don't understand it. But, I hope he gets it together." At one of the sadder points of the interview, Gucci also talks about how he never got to see Shawty Lo because the day he was off of his house arrest was the same day the rapper tragically passed away.

He also gives an update on his rumored collaboration mixtape with Drake. "We recorded two songs since I been out, but as far as working on an actual album, I sent him some ideas. He sent me some, but it's just ain't the right time...So hopefully the top of the year, we can get on top of it."
