As 2016 finally draws to a close and we all take a minute to work out exactly WTF happened, people are starting to look ahead to 2017. Things will probably get worse, but at least festivals are starting to announce line-ups. Fresh Island Festival, Croatia's massive hip-hop, R&B and grime turn-up, has just confirmed the first wave of acts and it's looking impressive already.
French Montana, Lady Leshurr and the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff are the first top-line acts, with Tim Westwood making a very welcome return to Zcre Beach as well. As far as first announcements go, this is huge and makes you wonder how they're going to top that in the months leading up to the festival. Given previous years, it shouldn't be a problem.
Fresh Island Festival 2017 takes place July 11-13 at Zcre Beach. Tickets are on sale now and start at just €109 (around £91) for the full three days.
