Harlem’s Cam’ron has added the likes of actor and fashion inspiration to his resume over the years. If he has it his way, he’ll add the title of talk show host as well.

“I have a deal on the table right now for a show called Dr. Cam that I might do with MTV,” Cam’ron told Angie Martinez in a recent interview for The Angie Martinez Show. “Basically, it's a Dr. Phil setting—not Jerry Springer, and not like Steve Wilkos. I’m only helping out middle class, white families. We’re in the middle of contracts for this.”

Cam added he specifically targeted the white, middle class demographic because he believes, “the barrier between black and white is not as big as everybody thinks.”

The topic transitioned to Cam’ron doing a joint reality show with Juju, and he said the right deal hasn’t emerged. Juju will appear on season seven of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. While talking with Martinez, Cam also divulged some news about another Harlemite who made a surprising run on the reality show circuit. Apparently Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash parlayed his roles on Vh1’s Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn, BET’s Music Moguls and WE TV’s Growing Up Hip Hop into a new business venture.

“I was at his [Dame Dash’s] house out in LA two or three weeks ago, and he’s about to film, but he got all the producers from those shows,” Cam said. “He’s like, ‘Cam, this is so-and-so from Growing Up Hip Hop. This is the guy from [Family] Therapy, and the cameramen and them are from Music Moguls. We’re doing my movie now.’”

Cam divulged Dash recently signed a deal with Lionsgate for two new movies, the titles of which have yet to be released.

In addition to Paid In Full, Dash is credited as the executive producer of 2004’s The Woodsman and 2005’s Kanye West: College Dropout – Video Anthology. Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has previously credited his success to an early breakout role in 2002’s Paper Soldiers, which Dash co-directed, and Cam’ron says fans still provide feeback about Paid In Full some 14 years after its release.

“I thank him all the time for that,” Cam said. “I’m like Rico three times a week.”
